Message To Michael

Music HighwayThe first time I realized people worship angels was by reading it in the Bible. You can find it in Colossians 2:18:

Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind…

As a matter of fact, upon further investigation, it is the Bible that introduces the world to the angelic beings.

a)  Cherubs (cherubim) are mentioned at the entrance into garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24).

b) God inspired the construction of the ark of the covenant to have two huge [1] figures of cherubs as part of the lid (Exodus 25:22; 2 Samuel 6:2; Isaiah 37:16). It was purely decorative on God’s part, offering us symbolisms of His throne and of Jesus Christ to study.

[1] revised 7/9/15. These cherubs were very large not miniature as previously stated.

c) At least two angels (all in the form of men – one very likely Jesus Christ) appeared to Abraham as he was sitting at the door of his tent (Genesis 18).

d) These same angels fulfilled a mission with God of bringing salvation to Lot and his family out from the city of Sodom (Genesis 19).

There are other mentions of angels in the Old Testament, but by New Testament times a total of three angels have been identified by name:

A representation of the ark of the covenant. God did not want it, especially the cherubs on it, to be worshipped.

1) Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12-15)

2) Gabriel (Daniel 8:15–26, Daniel 9:21–27; Luke 1:11)

3) Michael (Jude 1:9; Revelation 12:7-9)

Question: Do the cherubs on top of the ark of the covenant represent Gabriel and Michael?

Angels are ministering spirits serving God as He sees fit. But never did God instruct anyone to seek and communicate with them. God has warned us not to worship what He has created (Exodus 20:4-5). But man has done just that throughout history. Doing so, I believe, is actually delving into the occult.

Many people constantly dabble with the supernatural. Through palm readings, tarot cards and astrology (yes, astrology!), they are unknowingly consulting with fallen angels or demons – thereby being deceived by them.

These practices must be avoided by Christians (and all people everywhere, for that matter) at all costs. Continuing in them cause spiritual, and consuming darkness in lives to those involved.

What I discussed above can take blog posts to elaborate. Perhaps I will do so at a later date.

The YouTube video below is a beautiful, romantic song about a woman who sings to a bluebird to deliver a message to Michael, her love, whom she dearly misses. Will the bluebird carry out this request? Of course not! It’s a beautiful song, nevertheless.

I am posting the song because it reminds me of how people, again throughout history, have attempted communicating with those who have departed from them through mediums and spiritualists. They turn to clairvoyants and psychics to get messages from those who have passed on.

If you have been separated from someone because of a broken relationship such as a divorce, a separation, or a death, and deeply long to be with him/her again or just want closure, seek God for help –  not a mystic, a seer, an angel or even a bird.

Restored relationships are not easy, but they are possible with the Lord. – WIHS radio 104.9 FM, Thought For Today (part 8)

Spread your wings for New Orleans
Kentucky bluebird, fly away
And take a message to Michael
Message to Michael
He sings each night in some cafe
In his search to find wealth and fame
I hear Michael has gone and changed his name

label 45 rpm vinyl

It’s a year since he was here
Kentucky bluebird, fly away
And take a message to Michael
Message to Michael
Tell him I miss him more each day
As his train pulled out down on the track
Michael promised he’d soon be coming back

Oh tell him how my heart just breaks in two
Since he journeyed far
And even though his dream of fame
Fell through
To me he will always be a star

Spread your wings for New Orleans
Kentucky bluebird, fly away
And take a message to Michael
Message to Michael
Ask him to start for home today
When you find him please let him know
Rich or poor
I will always love him so

Fly away, Kentucky bluebird
Fly away, Kentucky bluebird
Fly away
Fly away
Fly away
