I Can See Clearly Now

Music HighwayThis secular world, for the most part, finds it difficult to understand the Bible. It has a problem seeing God in it. Scriptural passages that to us Christians are so clear in meaning are often overlooked, if not ignored, by the many.

As most of you Christians know, the Bible, God’s Word, is a book filled with much symbolism and imagery. It was authored in such a way that it can only be fully appreciated by those who have help from God.

For example, what do the following words spiritually mean to you: sun, sky, rain, cloud, day, blindness, darkness and brightness? Many of you Bible students would know, not only because of the hours devoted to study, meditation and prayer, but because of God’s Holy Spirit within you.

A sudden deeper understanding of God’s plan for salvation began to be given to mankind around 33 AD, the Day of Pentecost, the Jews’ holy day of Shavuot or Feast of Weeks (Leviticus 23:15-16). It was on that day that the Christian church was born.

Jesus Christ had already died and risen from the dead about 50 days earlier, and it was on that day, the Day of Pentecost, that many Jews who had gathered from all parts of the known world to worship in Jerusalem, heard the gospel message boldly proclaimed for the first time by devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

On that day these disciples came out of seclusion understanding clearly what Christ had been teaching them the previous three and a half years. The Holy Spirit had been given to them. Ever since then, the church, for the most part, has had the privilege of being led by the Holy Spirit to accomplish God’s will on earth.

If you are not a believer in Christ yet sense a desire to understand the Bible, then become a Christian. You will have nothing to lose and much to gain as you grow to clearly understand the meaning of life for yourself and for others – beginning in your lifetime before Jesus Christ returns.

album – I Can See Clearly Now  (1972)

I can see clearly now the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day.

45 rpm (single – label)

I think I can make it now the pain is gone.
All of the bad feelings have disappeared.
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies.
Look straight ahead, nothing but blue skies.

It’s going to be a bright ( bright)
imagebright (bright) sunshiny day.
It’s gonna be a bright (bright) bright (bright)
sunshiny day.
