There’s Got To Be A Morning After

Music HighwayMost of us Christians (and even non- Christians) sense world conditions moving on a downward spiral. Mankind just cannot adequately solve its problems. This world’s civilization cannot achieve lasting peace. Hatred and violence permeate society. Destruction abounds. Genocide goals are a reality for many cultures.

We Christians now believe that it is just a matter of time when large-scale wars, economic failures, unprecedented deadly diseases, famines, drought, social unrest, and political conquests will bring climatic suffering and turmoil never before experienced by civilization.

Many of us believe we are just seconds away in the clock of history – very close to the stroke of midnight – when all hell will break loose on all peoples. Utter darkness will be on the earth.

But, there is good news, complete ruin will not occur!

Throughout the history of man, since the time of Adam and Eve, a gospel from God has been anticipated. (Future blog here). Today’s gospel, however, is one of hope and of positive and permanent change. This gospel is that of a new dawning on the inhabitants of the earth. The Bible loudly proclaims that there will be a new beginning for the human race. It now shouts to those who can hear that it is soon coming.

But before that glorious morning, there will be much travail. I do not know what hardships we Christians may have to initially face individually or collectively when these end time trials strike in full force. But the Bible says the Church will be given wings of an eagle (Revelation 12:14). How that exactly plays out, I do not know.

But no matter what happens all around you. As you see the great calamities and wailings that all of society will express, remember the gospel. The darkness of this world will be replaced by light. Just as in the book of Genesis (Genesis 1:3), there will be light brought forth on the earth getting rid of the darkness. That light is Jesus Christ and His kingdom!

If I were to alter the lyrics of the YouTube video below, I would change them to reflect on the gospel’s message by instead singing “Oh Yes, There Is A Morning After.”

Single – 45 rpm cover

There’s Got To Be A Morning After (1973)
lyrics – Joel Hirschhorn, Al Kasha
music – Joel Hirschhorn, Al Kasha
sung by – Maureen McGovern
genre – Pop
side B – Midnight Storm
album – The Morning After

There’s got to be a morning after
If we can hold on through the night
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let’s keep on lookin’ for the light

Oh, can’t you see the morning after
It’s waiting right outside the storm
Why don’t we cross the bridge together
And find a place that’s safe and warm

there's got to be

vinyl 45 rpm

It’s not too late, we should be giving
Only with love can we climb
It’s not too late, not while we’re living
Let’s put our hands out in time

There’s got to be a morning after
We’re moving closer to the shore
I know we’ll be there by tomorrow
And we’ll escape the darkness
We won’t be searchin’ any more

There’s got to be a morning after
(There’s got to be a morning after)
There’s got to be a morning after
(There’s got to be a morning after)
There’s got to be a morning after
Morning After album(There’s got to be a morning after)
There’s got to be a morning after
(There’s got to be a morning after)
