I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing

Music HighwayJesus Christ told His disciples to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19). Did He mean that the church must convert all nations of the world? No. I am sure most of you Christians believe He meant the church is to make disciples from the nations – not make all nations become disciples.

Also, please note: the role of the church is not to teach the world to believe various other doctrines that are not about or related to Jesus Christ. Her role is just to proclaim, to witness, the good news doctrine of Jesus Christ – and how He is soon returning to reign as King of kings in the kingdom He will visibly set up on earth. It is basically the doctrine that He, Jesus Christ, died to save us from our sins and rose from the dead so we may have life forever. That is it!

imageToday, however, there are many Christian churches having many different styles of worship, music, traditions, and doctrines trying to make this world a better place. Making the world a better place in this age, strange as it may sound, is not the good news! The good news is not to convert the whole world to Christianity now, but to announce Jesus Christ as the One who paid the price for our sins by dying on the cross and rising from the grave. We are (I’m being redundant here) to witness that He is our Savior who is soon coming and that death as we know it today will cease to exist because of Him.

Yes it is true that we Christians are the salt of the earth and because of that, the world “tastes” better as people interact with us. The Holy Spirit is working here. Yes, there will be much healing, giving and compassion expressed from the Holy Spirit working through us, but it is after Jesus Christ returns that we Christians will teach and heal the world. It will be then that there will truly be one, united church. Very united! It will be then that there will be one, true set of doctrines being taught to the world by us. It will be then when the world will experience forever-lasting peace.

But, other than that, right now, there are just too many doctrines  – many of them containing errors – being taught by many Christian church congregations. And that will all change when Christ returns.

Why are disciples for Christ (also known as students) always to be added to the church? Answer: So they – along with us – would one day graduate at the moment Jesus Christ returns to earth – graduate to help teach the world. Jesus Christ will then fully begin teaching while ruling – with us alongside Him – in His kingdom and beyond.

The doctrines then that prevail (that will apply) will all be correct, precise and true causing the world to sing in perfect harmony as it understands and accepts them. May God speed that day.

Praise be the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!

album – We’ Like To Teach The World To Sing

I’d like to build the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow-white turtle doves

I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I’d like to hold it in my arms
And keep it company

I’d like to see the world for once
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
Ah, peace throughout the land

(That’s the song I hear)
I’d like to teach the world to sing
(That the world sings today)
In perfect harmony

I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony

I’d like to build the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow-white turtle doves

I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I’d like to hold it in my arms
And keep it company

I’d like to see the world for once
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
Ah, peace throughout the land

(That’s the song I hear)
I’d like to teach the world to sing
(That the world sings today)
In perfect harmony

I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
