You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby

Music HighwayWhen Jesus Christ was born was He ugly to behold?

When the Magi wise guys came into the town of Bethlehem and first looked at the Christ child did they gasp, look at each other, grimace, look back at the child then slowly walk backwards out the door?

I don’t think so.

On the night Christ was born the angels shouted praises of joy – not cries of moaning.

I firmly believe, and this is just my speculation, that Jesus Christ, when He was born, looked as beautiful as Adam did when he was born. What? Yeah, yeah, I know, Adam never was a baby. He was created as an adult. Okay.

But, I believe, the infant Jesus must have looked beautiful because one day the world and all who believe in Him will become completely perfect, tremendously youthful and wonderfully beautiful. It was the reason why Jesus Christ was born.

Therefore, instead of singing Silent Night to an adult Jesus in heaven, why not sing to Him the video song below – with altered lyrics, of course!

You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby  (1938)
lyrics – Johnny Mercer
music – Harry Warren
sung by – Dean Martin
first sung by: Bing Crosby (1938)
genre – popular
motion picture – Hard To Get (1938)

Oh you must have been a beautiful baby
You must have been a wonderful child
When you were only startin’ to go to kindergarten
I bet you drove the other boys wild

And when it came to winning blue ribbons
I bet you showed the other kids how
I can see the judges’ eyes as they handed you the prize
I bet you made the cutest bow
Oh you must have been a beautiful baby
‘Cause baby look at you now

Ah you must have been a beautiful baby
You must have been a wonderful child
When you were only startin’ to go to kindergarten
I bet you drove the little boys wild

And when it came to winning blue ribbons
I bet you showed the other kids how
I can see the judges’ eyes as they slapped you the prize
I bet you made the cutest bow
Oh You must’ve been an adorable baby
‘Cause baby look at you now
