Lonely Is the Man Without Love

Music HighwayAfter the creation, God said everything He made was all good. Very good except for one thing: it was not good for man to be alone. Most, if not all, of the creatures God created had companions and complements of some kind, of the same kind or species. Only Adam was created alone until God fashioned a woman, Eve, from Adam for Adam.

Mankind was then admonished to have loving relationships and to reproduce into families having loving parents, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles etc. Therefore, each person was not created to be alone or lonely but be a social being among human beings – with God also always being involved.

The saddest moment in the history of the world occurred when God had to remove Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden and become virtually out of sight from them from then on. After being driven out of the garden, a separation occurred – not only from a perfect environment – but (visibly only) from a perfect God. Mankind was now, in a way, separated from the source of eternal life. Question: Was man now alone? Did God stop loving him? Never. Instead, man chose to separate himself from the knowledge of the true God and His ways – which is love. The result is man’s loneliness and craving for love – spiritual love.

Man’s Departure From God Causes Loneliness
After the Fall of man and as time went on mankind now, because of his human nature, began spiritually separating himself from his Maker which led to evil consequences. Man stopped offering prayers and sacrifices to Him. Man instead sought other gods and other pursuits which, in my opinion, caused man to be truly a lonely creature. That is not good. But, again, is man right now without love? Is he alone? Answer: No! Instead I have good news!

Interestingly, God uniquely kept communicating and being connected with man. A momentous moment occurred when Jesus Christ, His son, offered Himself on the cross on behalf of man. And because of His death and resurrection, man has been reconciled or brought back from his condition where he can now have a close relationship with his Creator, always. Although, in this present age it may be difficult at times to maintain closeness, the Holy Spirit is ever present.

Jacob and Esau

Esau sells his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of soup.

God’s Predestined Love and Hatred?
God is defined in the Bible as love (1 John 4:16).  Yet there are some Christians who want me to believe that God loves only those he had predestined a millennia ago to become Christians (Divine Election). According to this belief, all other humans not preordained to be Christians in this age have been predestined never to receive the salvation of Christ. I know that some of you reading this understand full well what I am saying here and are in agreement with what I have stated.

But you misunderstand Hebrews 9:14 where it says, “Jacob I loved but Esau I hated.” You believe that God hated Esau before he was even born! You believe that God hated Esau eons before, not only because he, (Esau) was to decide to gave up his birthright for a bowl of soup (Genesis 25:29-34), but also because of what God said, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy” (Exodus 33:19; Romans 9:15). I believe your interpretation of these verses to be in error. If this were true then lonely indeed was Esau. He was born without love. That is not good.

I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for mankind! For all of mankind, including Esau. What God “hated” in Hebrews 9 was Esau becoming the blood ancestor of the nation of Israel culminating with Jesus Christ coming into the world. Jacob was to receive the blessing passed down since Abraham and Isaac (law of primogeniture), not Esau. Therefore, this passage in Hebrews is not about eternal judgment but about God’s sovereignty over who He chooses to first implement in His master plan of salvation – for all of mankind.

Loveless Secularization and Jesus Christ
Also, lonely is the man who himself chooses not to believe in God. That man is lonely indeed who has somehow decided in his mind that God does not exist. And since God is love, without His love, His presence in him and His mercy toward him, life for the atheist is meaningless, spiritually feeling lonely without love. He may not admit this, but life for the atheist is a lonely life. He is living without walking with God and honoring Him. What I just stated is too much for the atheist to accept. But these are just my thoughts. I can say more here, but will do so in a future post – God willing.

The two YouTube videos below are a reminder to me of just how lonely a man can be – not just in the physical or romantic sense – but spiritually speaking. If you are a Christian, be thankful always of how God first loved you so that you need not be lonely and pessimistic of the future. Embrace God with loving arms (heart) as He has done with you. That is good.

The Father is the Ace, Jesus is the King, the Church is the Queen, the Holy Spirit is the Jack, and the Commandments of Christ are the Ten of Hearts.

A Loving Hand

Also, as Christians, let us have a heart for the lost and his current condition. They do not know that Someone cares for them and that Christ died for them. The unconverted are craving for love and purpose in the midst of an evil world. Yes, lonely is the man without God – without Jesus Christ – without Love.

album – A Man Without Love

I can remember when we walked together
Sharing a love I thought would last forever
Moonlight to show the way so we can follow
Waiting inside her eyes was my tomorrow
Then something changed her mind, her kisses told me
I had no loving arms to hold me

Every day I wake up then I start to break up
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I start out then I cry my heart out
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I wake up then I start to break up
Knowing that it’s cloudy above
Every day I start out then I cry my heart out
Lonely is a man without love

I cannot face this world that’s fallen down on me
So if you see my girl please send her home to me
Tell her about my heart that’s slowly dying
Say I can’t stop myself from crying

Every day I wake up then I start to break up
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I start out then I cry my heart out
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I wake up then I start to break up
Knowing that it’s cloudy above
Every day I start out then I cry my heart out
Lonely is a man without love

Every day I wake up then I start to break up
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I start out then I cry my heart out
Lonely is a man without love
