Just Lovin’ You

Music HighwayIf you could be any person, any one at all, who would you be?

Would you choose: Paul McCartney? Princess Diana? Elvis Presley? Lady Gaga?

If you are a Christian, would you choose to be Jesus Christ? I believe many of you would choose Him.

But wait, the Bible says we Christians are to become more and more like Him!  Right? ( 1 John 2:6 NLT; Gal. 3:27) With God’s Holy Spirit in us, we can be Jesus Christ. Also, we are the Body of Christ, the church, right? So we are Jesus Christ to the world.

Can you imagine yourself being exactly like the Son of God?

How would Jesus Christ answer the above question: “Who else would you rather be?” Let’s find out.

You: Jesus, if you could be anyone in the world you always wanted to be, who would you be?

Jesus: Why, I would be me!

You: You would be you?  Why?  Please explain.

Jesus: Did you not read that I love the needy, the sick and the prisoner? When you visit them you have visited me (Matthew 25:36). You would be surprised how I am me in many people you meet.

You:  Wow!

Jesus:  And when I am in you, and you are in me, my Father in heaven sees only me.  So, yes, if I could be anybody in this whole, wide world it would be me.

You:  Are you some kind of a narcissist?

Jesus:  No, I am your Creator who is joyful of being me, just lovin’ you.

LYRICS:

If I could be anyone that I wanted to be
I’d be me, just lovin’ you
If I could go anywhere, see what I wanted to see
I’d see me, just lovin’ you
Lovin’ you, lovin’ you, just lovin’ you

If I had one star that I could make a wish on tonight
I’d say I’m alright just lovin’ you

Album

As long as you say that you’ll be mine
And that we never will part
My days will be filled up with sunshine
And I’ll have this song in my heart

If I could be anyone that I wanted to be
I’d be me, just lovin’ you
If I could go anywhere, see what I wanted to see
I’d see me, just lovin’ you
Lovin’ you, lovin’ you, just lovin’ you

If I could be anyone that I wanted to be
I’d be me, just lovin’ you
