That’s The Way I Like It

Music HighwayAs many of you have noticed, I have posted many blogs in this AmbassadorHighway.com website. I never thought it would amount to be this much when I first started five years ago.  What has kept me going?

Let me state right away that I have always been interested in the Bible. And I have had the fortune (God’s blessing) of learning from excellent Bible teachers, hearing inspiring sermons and reading challenging
books that presented the Bible in very
interesting and palatable ways.

Because of this, I consider myself primarily a Christian
who constantly needs to be fed good, spiritual food.
The meals I have feasted on have created within me
a desire to constantly desire to go back for more.

Now that I am writing blogs based on the Word of
God as it’s foundation, I have felt compelled to give
back, to anyone interested, what I have learned and
what I am learning.

That’s the way I like it.

God wants His people to think!

This past March 2017, I started my sixth year of blogging. Time indeed has flown by. I have spiritually grown immeasurably by the grace of God during these years. In many areas, I am not the same person in understanding the things of the Bible than I was five years ago.

And I know that several of you are following my blogs for which I am grateful. I deeply appreciate your
patronage. Because of that, I have always
prayed and worked hard that my writings be an encouragement to you.

That’s the way I like it.

Let me also remind you to please NOT consider
these blogs to be sermons. Any of you, however,
can use any of my posts as outlines for your
preaching, teaching and Bible study. Have at it!

Accordingly, it has never been my intent to be pleasers of men as I produce these blogs. It is impossible to please everybody anyway. Instead, I believe I have been doing this according to God’s will, purpose and plan in my life. I know that most of the ideas I have come up with for this website I could never have thought of and created on my own – even if I had tried. I believe it has been God who has kept me going.

And here is my rule of thumb as I write these articles: When I am not interested in a topic I am preparing; when I find myself struggling to keep myself stimulated; when I find myself bored with the subject at hand; that is when I sense God may be wanting me writing about something else – something that He is interested in at that time, that is when I stop what I am doing and start working on a different topic. I have already done that several times.

That’s the way I like it.

I also know I have commented on topics that have been controversial to many of you. Remarkably, those of you who have continued reading these blogs must yourselves be wired differently. May God be praised.

Some of my published postings, I am certain, would raise eyebrows and deep concern were I to teach them to congregations. But, my blogs are simply that – blogs. They are mostly my thoughts and views on topics that interest me and that, prayerfully, are also from God.

For others of you who have known me personally in the past and have theological differences of opinion than what I have conveyed, I am thankful to God that you have been open-minded toward my writings. Please, read on.

By the way, my brother, who is also a Christian, disagrees with many of the concepts I have written. We do not see eye-to-eye on many theological concepts and premises pertaining to various doctrines churches believe. Yet, I still view him, my brother, as a faithful Christian who will be in the resurrection of the saints when Christ returns.

That’s the way I like it.

I greatly enjoy fellowshipping with saints who are not afraid to “think outside the box”. (Please research or ask others the meaning of this cliché if you do not understand it.)

I am humbled by any apprehensions any of you may have experienced as you read these blogs. I must relay to you that it is not my intention of enticing you or any of your followers into following me. I have no local or worldwide organizations of my own for anyone to join – that alone will create a great sigh of relief from some of you.

Basically, I see myself as a Christian apologist, one who defends what I and fellow Christians believe. If I cannot defend a doctrine or a teaching that is believed by many Christians, then I just may, God willing, explain in writing why I have difficulties defending it.

My passion is to encourage saints to think for themselves. Why? So that they can
adequately defend themselves from being blind-sided and led astray by cult-like, erroneous, religious arguments that come their way. I also want to strengthen them against becoming nonbelievers deceived by atheists who are anti-God and anti- Christ.

Christians, in order to spiritually defend yourselves, you must be able to properly think for yourselves.

I believe a healthy church, a robust community of belivers, should allow for differences of beliefs and opinions within the congregation. As long as a saint’s beliefs are not critical, toxic cancer to the spiritual health of saints around him, there should be open discussions of doctrines where “iron sharpens iron” (Proverbs 27:17).

There must be (not should be) a willingness for churches to often open-mindedly review all their Biblical insights which they have learned and perceived are indicating change, revision and reform that need to be addressed. A prayerful desire for reformation is very healthy for all concerned.

And, if that’s the way God likes it, then that’s the way I like it.

When we’re all all alone
When you whisper sweet in my ear
When you turn, turn me on
