For those of you who have studied the Bible for several years, no matter how often you read a particular verse, oftentimes a new understanding of it will suddenly light up at you as if it were new!
Last year, there were verses that for years I have been familiar that all of a sudden took on a whole new dimension when I began writing about them.
If you are a new Christian or a person who does
not know yet what the Bible is all about, I pray
that the verses below will cause you to start
thinking differently about yourself and the
world you live in.
On the other hand, chances are you are now beginning to study the Bible. If so, I believe it will be a Supreme Being, the Great God, who will be communicating to you mostly through your thoughts.
Below are ten more Bible verses added from “10 Bible Verses That Can Change Your Life (part 29)” that have changed my life and other people’s lives as well. These verses have been doing this throughout the centuries. I am sure you long-time students of the Bible can think of other verses that are also life-changing.
291) Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
There is now no condemnation by and from God against any Christian. Why? Because he [the Christian believer] places his trust, love and faith on Christ. Despite his sins which he hates, repents and striving against, this Christian is still justified and righteous and sanctified
before God! He is saved, PERIOD!
That is good news! If you are in Christ and He is
dwelling in you, your previous state of condemnation
to death has now been totally changed to everlasting life!
292) Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Everyone, including me, who is a Christian, at one time, was an unbeliever. We were the unconverted and very much conformed to the ways of this world. Therefore, this verse is aimed at born-again believers who supposedly are to be taking advantage of the Holy Spirit within them. We Christians should always strongly have the mind of Christ.
If we do, then the renewing of your mind is almost automatic. We Christians should always be renewing our minds through prayer, Bible study, fellowship, fasting and meditation. Therefore, you doing so, as a Christian, will continue to spiritually grow and see change your life.
293) Acts 2:4
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
The Holy Spirit enables people to do a task that is needed and of priority for His purpose at any given moment.
- At one time, there was no Christian church.
- But, there were people, Jews, visiting Jerusalem on the day Pentecost (Acts 2:5, Deut 16:9; Lev. 23:16). It was this very same day the disciples (who also were Jews) were also observing.
- Today, however, the Holy Spirit is enabling most of us to do God’s work differently than in the first century. Speaking in tongues, for example, will not today have the same impact on unbelievers as it did on that day of Pentecost which followed the ascension of Christ.
- If you are in Christ, He will enable you, by infusing into you spiritual talents or gifts, to affect the lives of those in your sphere of influence whom God is calling.
294) 1 Corinthians 12:12
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
You may be wondering if you are in the “wrong” Church. If you believe that to be the case with you, what should you do? Well, if that church you are in professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then you are in the body of Christ.
But what if the church has what you perceive
as Biblical errors? Then it has errors. What
else is “new”? Christ, for the moment, has
If you, however, feel you do not belong in that fellowship, it does not mean you are no longer a Christian. If you have begun thinking this way, please remember that the Christian faith is not about a membership in a club where you must abide by its codified, agreed-upon, organizational rules. What rules? Rules such as: no smoking, no drinking, no gambling, no dancing, no movie-going, no long hair, no short hair, etc., These are not issues affecting salvation. Your belief in Jesus Christ is what is very important. I know some of you will disagree.
But, once again, if you have believed and accepted Jesus Christ, then you are part of the body of Christ. You are a living rock, sheep, salt of the earth, a child of God etc., etc., etc.
Knowing this will relieve unnecessary worry and concern from your life.
295) 1 Corinthians 14:1
Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy.
Why is there prophecy? Why would you want to prophesy? Some would translate this word, prophesy, as giving inspired teaching or preaching. Whatever the case,
please read the context of this passage.
Many Christian churches will have differing strict
interpretations of this one verse. (Note: I will contemplate on
this verse and, God-willing, post something about it).
In the meantime, if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord
and Savior and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you, they will
indeed change your life.
296) Acts 15:1
Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: “Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved.”
The key word in this verse is saved. Saved from what? Answer: The condemnation that comes from a previous life of sinning. That condemnation is death.
Once you believe and accept Jesus Christ, you are saved!!! PERIOD …or in this case … EXCLAMATION POINTS … !!!
There are no hoops that you must go through to become a member of the body of Jesus Christ. There is no required reading of books or literature beforehand to become a Christian, no catechism or 101 introductory classes to take, and no memorizing 100 bible verses to qualify to become a part of the body of Christ. Once you believe in Him as your Lord and Savior, you now have immortality within you! Just as Jesus Christ rose from the dead with an immortal body, so will you rise immortal because you are a part of the body of Christ.
297) Acts 16:31
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
Please note: What was required for that household in Acts 16:31 to be saved? It was to first believe in Jesus Christ. The same is true in your life. God first causes you to believe there is a God and a Savior. The carnal flesh cannot come to grips with this. The fact that you are now understanding these words and considering believing and accepting Christ means that God has already been working in your life. Trust me on this one! Please click on a previous post about believing and having faith entitled, I Gotta Have Faith.
If you truly understand this and are willing to take the next step, that step will begin to change your life!
298) Acts 17:11
Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great If we don’t come apart and rest awhile, we may just plain come apart. — Vance Havnereagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
Many Bible preachers and teachers will often tell you not to
listen to other Christians, not to visit their churches
or not go to other Christian internet sites. Why not? I am a firm
believer of Christians, once in awhile, checking for themselves
the scriptures others teach to so sharpen and become better
prepared to proclaim their testimony. If Christians are not to
go to other Christian internet websites, then why are those who
believe this way and their organizations posting their beliefs
online for others (Christian and non-Christian) to browse?
If you strongly believe on Jesus Christ, however, then
nothing, no one, can change you. Christ has already changed
your life and will continue to change you to become more
like Him. Amen and Amen!
299) Galatians 2:16
know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
Jesus Christ is the God, the LORD, of the Old Testament. Yet, however, one church believes you should believe this doctrine while another says you should believe that doctrine. But if they all believe and have faith on Jesus Christ, then they are all Christians. Knowing that, whatever Christian church God has placed you, will help you be free and change your life.
300) Galatians 6:1
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
Do Christians sin? Yes. Everyone sins. But, this verse strictly pertains to the brethren within the church. The sin being discussed here is about a sinful lifestyle. It is a sinful state that defies Christ and which has not been repented of. Otherwise, what is the big deal? Everyone sins. All of us have sinned. And all will continue to sin. This will go on until Christ returns.
But, here is good news for you. You can be surrounded by Spirit-led, Christian brothers and sisters who care for you rather than shun you for being imperfect. They desire to help you as you help them. That comforting thought and knowledge will change your life. May God lead you to a Christian community such as this.
