I Say A Little Prayer For You

Last weekend, a national day of prayer was requested by the President of the United States on behalf of all those enduring the consequences of Hurricane Harvey over Texas and Louisiana. Most, if not all, of the Christian churches who heard it took up the call. I am sure it will make a difference on the lives affected by that hurricane.

As I write this, another hurricane, Irma, is making her presence felt. She already has been identified as the strongest hurricane ever
recorded in the Atlantic Ocean outside of the
Caribbean islands. If she strikes heavily
populated areas at hurricane force it will
further stress the recovery resources of the
nation. So as of now, saying a little prayer
for protection and mercy over what is yet to
come is much needed.

Why God would allow such natural
monstrosities to occur over people is His
business. Can anything good come out of this?
Yes, especially when there is prayer being
deployed.

Hurricane Harvey hitting Texas, 2017

The Bible book of Judges is replete with how one calamity after another humbled the nation of Israel to her knees.  At that time, there were no successions of kings in Israel. God was her only King. He left Israel suffer the consequences of neglecting and forsaking Him for other gods. It took leaders whom God sent, called judges – not kings – to deliver and rule the nation of Israel away from tyranny, bondage and despair caused by her enemies surrounding her.

In our modern day, Israel still faces threats of hostility and harm from rogue, puny nations encircling
her. I am sure that many in that nation and
elsewhere are praying for her safety. They know God
is listening.

Another nation, North Korea, is dangerously roaring
ugly threats to its neighbors. Yes, diplomacy for peace
is of importance. Once again, saying a little prayer for
a calm resolution will go along way. I am sure that
whatever prayers are offered related to events related
to North Korea will be heard by our God, our Father
God in heaven.

* Keep praying for our school children as they go to school.

* Keep praying for your spouse as he or she goes to work.
(I remember the workers who perished on 9, 11, 2001).

* Pray for improved unity in this divided country.

* Pray for all those suffering under terrorism in other countries.

* Pray for the persecuted Christians and their families.

The YouTube video below is an example of praying without ceasing as stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV).  Although longer prayers are wonderful, short prayers to God throughout the day go a long way in walking alongside with Him.

LYRICS:

The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little prayer for you
While combing my hair, now
And wonder what dress to wear, now
I say a little prayer for you

Single

Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever, and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me

I run for the bus, dear
While riding I think of us, dear
I say a little prayer for you
At work, I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time
I say a little prayer for you

Vinyl 45 rpm

Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever, and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me

I say a little prayer for you
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, forever, you’ll stay in my heart
And I will love you
Forever, and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I’ll love you
Together, together, that’s how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me

Album

My darling, believe me
For me there is no one, but you
Please love me, too
I’m in love with you
Answer my prayer
Say you love me, too.
Why don’t you answer my prayer?
You know, that every day I say a little prayer
You know I say, I say a little prayer
You know, that every day I say a little prayer
