Good Day Sunshine

Music HighwayAnother massive shooting against the innocent has occurred. This time it happened in Las Vegas, Nevada. Once again, a nation is in shock. I know I was. I was totally disgusted with the sheer violence and lunacy of it all. Yes indeed …

Our day is a day of weeping.
Weep for the families affected by this evil.

Our day is a day of grieving.
Grieve with the nation in mourning because of this.

Our day is a day of sorrow.
It is reasonable now for us to lament for others.

Our day is a day of darkness.
We must acknowledge that is getting darker.

Nevertheless, we still have joy because of the gospel.

Paul McCartney’s electric bass guitar is a small version of the acoustic string bass.

Senselessness has been the news story for all mankind ever since Cain murdered Abel (Genesis 4:1-8). Yes, the beat goes on. But how can we ourselves rejoice when we are
aware of the tragedies  causing sadness all around us?

Because of all the ugliness found in society, some Christians understandably will tend to have a foreboding, doom-and-gloom gospel. Their “good news” may subtly revert mostly to the evils that exist; about the killings that persist and the hatred and violence in our midst.

Their “gospel message” tends to stall to mostly focus on how the world will soon come to an end because
of God’s wrath befalling it and how He will
condemn many people of this world.

On and on it may go. One negative fact after another is what may mostly be proclaimed as the gospel. But is that what the gospel really all about? Is it mostly about reporting the bad news that exists so that people would repent? Not at all. I am sure most of you Christians know this.

Despite the horror we see reported on news TV, the gospel of Jesus Christ will never change. God still loves us despite the choices man makes to hate others.

God is still good despite the evil all around us.

God still exists despite the senseless murders all around us.

Morning sunshine

The innocent who were shot in Las Vegas will not remain dead. Despite what negative religion may say, they are not immediately going directly to hell if they never knew Christ. Instead, they will rise up, see the Messiah who forgave His executioners (Luke 23:34) and be offered- yes be offered – after their judgment, the Holy Spirit who will give them the opportunity to also forgive – or not forgive – the person who shot them. (Just my thoughts here).

But, you may ask, what about verses such as: Matthew 25:31-46 and 2 Thessalonians 1:5–10? To that I answer that we do not know the full “timeline” schedule of events of God’s grace after the resurrection of all flesh. Perhaps, in the spirit world where God resides, there is no timeline as we know it now in the flesh. Linear time as we know it in the flesh may not exist in the next life. So yes, some will
be condemned, but exactly when and exactly why?
I may post more of my thoughts (again, my thoughts)
on this in a future blog – Lord willing.

Am I whitewashing history? Am I casting heresy? Am I believing as a Universalist? No. I just see God who is good. I see God who is merciful. I see God who
is alive. I see God who loves life. I see God who is LOVE.

Because of the ever-increasing evils of this world, we Christians (and all mankind) live in cloudy days now. But with Jesus Christ in us we Christians can always experience His sunshine – His love.

In this age, this day, man tends to resist what is good for him. He tends to perceive the words of the Bible and the good way to live as boring, foolish and lacking significance. But it shouldn’t be that way.

The gospel is about Jesus Christ and a new day, a new way, a bright way that He wants to bring for all mankind. That day will be full of love.

One day the stars of the universe will be our backyard.

Hey, question: How will love towards others be like in the next life? Today, as Christians, we are admonished to love those who are imperfect, who hate us, who persecute us.  But, in the next life, once all of the imperfections of human nature are gone and godliness abound, how will we love one another? What will love be like in the next life? Will it greatly be the love that God has – a  love that always was, always is and always will be?
Why do I ask? Because LOVE is who God is.

A new day is just around the corner. A new
way of giving will ensue. On that good and
glorious day the stars – the shining suns
defining the galaxies of the universe – will
become our backyard –
every cubic inch of it.

Yes, there are dark and evil days looming on the horizon,
but they will all come to an end. Therefore, keep God
in your heart as you await His glorious day
– a day that will be full of goodness,
– a goodness that will shine forevermore.

With that in mind,
you and I can now joyfully sing,
“Good Day Sunshine”.

Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.

Single, 45 rpm, jukebox release

I need to laugh, and when the sun is out
I’ve got something I can laugh about,
I feel good, in a special way.
I’m in love and it’s a sunny day.

Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.

We take a walk,
The sun is shining down,
Burns my feet as they touch the ground.

Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.

And then we lie,
Beneath a shady tree,
I love her and she’s loving me.
She feels good,
She knows she’s looking fine.
I’m so proud to know that she is mine.

Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,

Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine,
Good day sunshine.

Good day sunshine.
(Good day sunshine.)
