I Feel The Earth Move

It was my last day in Pasadena, CA. I had just completed my studies at a Bible college a few weeks earlier and was now ready to return to Connecticut and continue forward with my life.

I remember well that evening in October. I will never forget as I walked out on the backyard for the very last time for memories sake and quickly noticing something strange. It was very quiet! It was all eerie to me.
There were no sounds of crickets and other
insects that I was accustomed to at that time
of the evening. Very odd.

I let it go at that and went to bed. Then,
early the next morning I was suddenly awakened
by the rattling of furniture all around me.

Getting up I was shocked to feel the floor beneath
me swaying back and forth like a ride in an amusement
park. I was experiencing an earthquake!

I remember thinking to myself, “So this is what an
earthquake feels like!”

Birds, insects and other animal life can sense in advance an earthquake about to fully erupt

Here is the actual news clip of the earthquake that occurred in southern California on that day in October 1987: (Click here). The quake’s epicenter was not very far.

It is recorded in the Bible that in the last days the inhabitants of the earth will see many signs and wonders that will shake them. Terrible calamities never before seen will be happening all around them.

Revelation 6:12-13 says:

I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

Revelation 16:18 . .

Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.

The Bible also says there is going to be an earthquake that will “cleave the Mount of Olives in two” (Zechariah 14:4 KJV). I know the feet of Christ will be on that mountain, but why would God want to split it? Will there be other people on that mountain? Will the enemies of God be consumed by its split?  I do not have the answers for these questions. I do believe, according to the verse above, it will be the strongest earthquake perhaps ever measured on the Richter scale. It may also be tremendous in other ways; God only knows. God will do what He will do according to His will.

At that time the stars will also appear to be tumbling down from the sky (Matthew 24:29; Revelation 6:13). Is this due to the earth’s axis beginning to gyrate in a circular motion and off center causing the stars to appear to move in such a way? Or is this just symbolic lingo? Time will tell, my friend; time will tell.

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and one day begin to witness tremendous earth-shaking events and see other celestial occurances never before seen by man, be still and know that Christ is soon returning to earth just as He promised. God’s full establishment of His kingdom will soon be a reality.

I feel the earth move
Under my feet.
I feel the sky tumblin’ down.
I feel my heart start
To tremblin’ whenever you’re around.

Ooh, baby, when I see your face,
Mellow as the month of May,
Oh, darlin’, I can’t stand it
When you look at me that way.

Single

Hey, I feel the earth move
Under my feet.
I feel the sky tumblin’ down.
I feel my heart start to tremble
whenever you’re around.

Ooh, darlin’, when you’re near me
And you tenderly call my name,
I know that my emotions
Are somethin’ I just can’t tame.
I just got to have ya, baby.
Uh, uh, uh.
Uh, uh, uh, yeah.

Album

I feel the earth move
Under my feet.
I feel the sky tumblin’ down, a-tumblin’ down.
I feel the earth move
Under my feet.
I feel the sky tumblin’ down, a-tumblin’ down.

I just a-lose control
Down to my very soul.
I get hot and cold
All over, all over, all over, all over.

I feel the earth move
Under my feet.
I feel the sky tumblin’ down, a-tumblin’ down.
I feel the earth move
Under my feet.
I feel the sky tumblin’ down, a-tumblin’ down,
A-tumblin’ down, a-tumblin’ down,
A-tumblin’ down, a-tumblin’ down,
Tumblin’ down.
