Our Daily Bread – December 2017

Here is this month’s December 2017, promotional commentary of the monthly devotional called Our Daily Bread. This publication has been around for over 60 years. It was first published in April 1956.

It includes articles related to the Bible and Christian living, a daily Bible reading, an article about the Bible reading and an insight about the passage. It also gives you scriptures so you can read the entire Bible in one year. In other words, it is a treasure to help you in your daily growth with Jesus Christ, your Savior.

Below is a list of the titles of the daily articles from this month’s (December) booklet. Underneath each are my personal brief thoughts about the article.

December 1, 2017     The Last Will Be First

December 8, 2017     Unexpected Grace
When God first called you to accept the Lord into your life and you responded, more often than not, it initially occurred at an unexpected moment in your life. Can Jesus Christ being within a person change him – even outwardly?
Yes? No? Maybe? Maybe not? You better
read this and find out.

December 10, 2017     Restored Failures
This day’s devotional gives a great illustration of God’s grace. It is about restoring people from their failures back to positive, successful living. Read more about this here!

December 11, 2017     It’s All A Gift!
There is a well known saying that goes,  “Everything in life is NOT free.” I am sure, however, many of you reading this may disagree. This day’s devotional looks at all the things God has given to us that are indeed free. Inspiring message.

December 25, 2017     Traditions and Christmas
When I saw the title of this day’s devotional, I cringed. The world’s tradition and Christianity have been a poor combination with me in the past. More attention to traditions, in my opinion, tends to leave Christ out of the picture – especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Traditions within our materialistic society have practically removed Christ out of these holidays. This day’s article, however, focuses on the day of our Savior’s birth.

December 29, 2017    What Remains in the Eye
If we get a speck in our eye, eventually it can cause pain and irritation leading to inflammation. But, however, what remains in the eye according to this article is fascinating and wonderful! What this is all about is shown here!

December 30, 2017   Times of Completion
